2nd inning: Score remains 3-0 in favor of Gorman

After two complete innings, the score remains 3-0 at the NIAA State 4A Baseball Championships.

Bishop Gorman scored three runs in the top half of the first inning on three hits and a Douglas error for the 3-0 lead.

Gorman righty Stephen Manthei (9-1 on the year with a 1.73 ERA and 76 strikeouts) sat the Tigers down in order in the bottom half.

The winner of this game will play for the state title Saturday morning while the loser will have to fight for survival in the 6 p.m. game tonight against the Green Valley-Cimarron winner.
