Through three complete innings, BIshop Gorman leads Douglas 5-0 in the NIAA State 4A Baseball Championships.

Gorman brough two runs across in the top of the third but starter Tyler May managed to get out of a bases-loaded jam to prevent further damage.

Douglas reliever Tim Rudnick is on the mound to start the fourth.

Other notables: Douglas has been charged with two errors in the game, running their total for the tournament to seven.

Gorman scored three runs in the top half of the first inning on three hits and a Douglas error.

Gorman righty Stephen Manthei (9-1 on the year with a 1.73 ERA and 76 strikeouts) sat the Tigers down in order in the bottom half of the first and has kept them in check since.

The winner of this game will play for the state title Saturday morning while the loser will have to fight for survival in the 6 p.m. game tonight against the Green Valley-Cimarron winner.
