Highway closed for Spring Valley blaze

Highway 395 is closed from Palomino to Holbrook Junction as firefighters battle a 10-20 acre blaze in Spring Valley, a half-mile west of Highway 395.

According to the Sierra Front Interagency Dispatch, the fire is burning along the ridgeline in 10-20 acres of pinon pine and juniper.

As of 5:50 p.m., three air tankers, three hand crews a helicopter and 13 engines from East Fork Fire District, U.S. Forest Service, Nevada Division of Forestry and the Carson City Fire Department are battling the blaze.
