Minden resident Mark Heidt, owner and operator of Kids' Camp, Inc., also known as Tahoekids,' is offering a similar program called Carson Valley Kids' Camp from June 8 to Aug. 18.

Heidt has entertained thousands of vacationing children in the Lake Tahoe area since 1992, and he is excited about partnering with Carson Valley Christian this summer to provide a day camp in Carson Valley.

Carson Valley Kids' will offer children fun and adventure and a message with a purpose.

Boys and girls ages 6-12 will participate in off-site activities such as bowling, hiking in Lake Tahoe, swimming, trips to the movies, and many more surprises.

Heidt's mission statement is, "adventure with a purpose." Over the past 30 years, he has taught martial arts, skiing and hockey to children of all ages.

"The CV Kids' day camp is much more than a typical childcare service," Heidt said. "CV Kids' is a well-rounded program of activities and adventures. It strives to provide a place where children can go and learn important principles that will build confidence and enhance every aspect of their lives. This program is an opportunity to make a positive impact on today's children, therefore it uses all available resources to help steer kids in the right direction."

The program will run Monday through Friday from June 8 to Aug. 18. Sessions will be from 8 a.m. to 5 p.m. with a cost of $40 per child per day. Fees include daily activities, but do not include lunch. Family and weekly rates are also available.

The camp can only accommodate 15 children per day, so reservations are recommended.

The program uses Carson Valley Christian, 1095 Stephanie Way, Minden, to drop off and pick up participants.
