The R-C Morning Report

Record-Courier Publisher Charlie Pankey made his broadcast television debut here in Northern Nevada when he was interviewed on camera by Channel 2 morning anchor Erin Breen. Charlie did a great job talking about The R-C and the segment aired on the 5:30 p.m. broadcast Wednesday. I've ordered a tape of the event.

The Carson Valley Almanac came out on Wednesday and the listings are a mess. Thanks to a font conflict, none of them end where they're supposed to. We're working on a supplement for the book, which will be done as quickly as possible. When I upload the pages, they'll show the listings as they should have been.

That 40 percent chance of thunderstorms in the forecast is like mountains in the desert, the further you walk toward them, the further off they get. Now the big weather day is Friday, but even a bad gambler occasionally hits a straight. The odds that we'll see thundershowers between 11 a.m. and 8 p.m. are at 30 percent. That's going to stick around through Sunday according to the National Weather Service. The high temperature will be 83 today and the low 53 tonight.
