EDITOR:
I would like to thank this great community for coming out on Oct. 11 to the Big George Athletic Complex and supporting Douglas County schools. The Douglas County Education Foundation is up and running again thanks to this community's support. We had 336 runners and 82 of those were kids.
This run would not have been possible without the generous donations of Suzy Stockdale and Stockdale Creative, Big George Ventures, Re/Max Realty, Ahern Rentals, Moxy Girls, Carson Valley Medical Center, Bill Johnson, Guild Mortgage, Tahoe Douglas Fire, Northwest Martial Arts, CIS, Edgewood Corporation, and Calstar. We had other generous donations from East Fork Fire, Les Schwab, Round Hill Pines Beach and Marina, H20 Sports, Tumbleweeds Gymnastics, World Gym, Safeway, Sorenson's Resort, Lira's Market, Karwoski Dental, Lake Tahoe Accommodations, Ironwood Cinemas, Fleet Feet, Gardnerville Starbucks, Alpen Sierra Coffee, Costco, Simply Stella Jewelry, Nyona, Careflight, Paradise Tan, The Record-Courier, Douglas High School, and Breathe Fitness. There were a number of volunteers that put in their time to make sure this event was successful. Thank you so much for your time and your continued support of our schools.
The foundation is looking forward to allocating the funds raised from this event to helping teachers, counselors, and administrators achieve great things in each one of their schools. A special thanks to the members of the foundation that worked tirelessly to make sure our first annual run was a huge success. Until next year.
