Trick-or-Treat Safety Street attracted 1,500 children on Saturday night.

Back in its old haunt in the CVIC Hall in Minden, the annual event provides a safe place for children to gather candy out of the weather.

Douglas County Sheriff's Youth Services Officer Deputy Chris Griffth said nice weather on Saturday may have contributed to a lower turnout.

On average the event attracts 2,000 trick or treaters.

Pro Group Management won for best booth. AlC Carpet took second place, and Carson Valley Medical Center was third place.
