Nevada nonpartisan voters continue to climb

CARSON CITY - The secretary of state's office says more people registered as nonpartisan voters in Nevada last month than those who registered for all other political parties combined.

As of the end of October, 184,276 people were registered as nonpartisan in the state, an increase of 356 from September.

The number of registered Democrats increased by 182 to 523,345, while the number of active Republicans fell 116 to 425,635.

Election officials 1,197,252 Nevadans were registered to vote as of the end of October, and increase of 525 from the month before.

As of Nov. 1 in Douglas County, there were 16,493 registered Republicans, 9,425 Democrats and 4,113 nonpartisan voters.
