A cold front is forecast to head south into Western Nevada later this week, bringing moderate to heavy precipitation by Wednesday, according to a special statement issued by the National Weather Service at 1:48 p.m. today.
The front is expected to arrive by Wednesday evening, dropping snow levels below 6,000 feet overnight. By Thursday the snow levels could drop to the Valley floor as cold air moves into the area. A second burse of moisture could bring snow to the valleys by Thursday night.
