The Carson Valley Arts Council hosts its fifth annual Gingerbread House Decorating Contest. The competition is free to enter and is open to all residents and community groups of the Carson Valley and surrounding communities.
Application forms are available at the CVAC Office in the Copeland Cultural Arts Building, Douglas County Parks & Recreation Office at Lampe Park, Douglas County Public Library and the Carson Valley Museum & Cultural Center in Gardnerville. Applications are also on line at www.cvartscouncil.com and www.historicnevada.org
The exhibit opens concurrently with the Carson Valley Museum's Gallery of Trees and Cookie Walk on Dec. 5. Dennis Little, the contest coordinator says,
"Building a gingerbread house is a fantastic American tradition," said contest coordinator Dennis Little. "It blends all the elements of family fun with the holidays."
