A team of nurses from Carson City Health and Human Services will be visiting Douglas County schools next week handing out doses of H1N1 swine flu vaccine.

Information went home with students last week. The district is requiring parents to fill out permission slips and the screening questionaire before allowing students to be vaccinated.

Nurses will be at Meneley, Scarselli and Gardnerville elementary schools on Monday; Jacks Valley, Minden, Pinon Hills and Zephyr Cove elementary schools on Wednesday.

Children younger than 9-years old will require a second dose of the faccine in four weeks. Nurses will be back to administer that dose.

Anyone seeking information or copies of the documents should contact the school.

A vaccination clinic will be offered at a later date for secondary students, according to the district's Web site.

Children are among the largest of the priority groups subject to the swine flu.
