The next step in the community assessment process is 5:30 p.m. today when people gather to figure out how to implement the suggestions made in a series of meetings over the summer. The meeting will be held in the CVIC Hall in Minden.

The National Weather Service issued a special statement this morning predicting two fast moving storms expected to arrive in Western Nevada this week. The first storm will hit Tuesday night and could bring 1-2 inches of snow to the Tahoe basin, with 2-4 inches above 7,000 feet. On Thursday, forecasters say a foot or two of snow is possible at Lake level. We could see up to several inches in the Valley on Friday.

Today, it will be sunny with a high near 57 degrees and a light breeze in the afternoon of 5 mph. At sunrise, we're looking at 23 degrees in Minden, 20 in Genoa and 22 in the Gardnerville Ranchos.
