The Mono County Jail, located in Bridgeport, reopened on Monday.

According to the Mono County Sheriff's Office, all inmates who have been housed in El Dorado County Jail for the past several weeks have been moved back to the jail in Bridgeport.

Inmates were evacuated from the jail on Oct. 13 after a storm with heavy rain struck while work was being done to replace the roof.

"The Mono County Sheriff's Department would like to extend our thanks to all the various Mono County Department employees, California Highway Patrol, Mono County Superior Court, Inyo County Sheriff's Office and the El Dorado Sheriff's Office in assisting us during the past five weeks dealing with the flooding and jail rehabilitation," said Undersheriff Ralph Obenberger.

Anyone having questions regarding inmates may call (760) 932-7549 for jail information.
