U.S. Air Force veteran and Wellington resident William John Steiner, 72, died Nov. 14, 2009 in Carson City.
Born one of three children on March 23, 1937, in Los Angeles to Wendolin Benjamin and Eva Steiner, Mr. Steiner was a high school football player, he was a member of the U.S. Air Force Reserves for many years.
He worked in the manufacturing of all different types of transportation, working with metal. An avid golfer, he liked to watch cowboy movies, spend time with his family, go to family events, he enjoyed his grandkids, dining at In-N-Out Burger, and also like to explore, spend time in the mountains, camp, fish and hunt.
Mr. Steiner was preceded in death by his wife Janet, mother, step-father, father, step-mother, and a sister.
He is survived by sons Mark Steiner of Apple Valley, Calif., David Steiner of Victorville, Calif., Daniel Steiner of Costa Mesa, Calif.; daughter Lorraine Steiner of Wellington; sister Barbara Larson of Georgia; and nine grandchildren.
A memorial service will be determined at a later date by the family. Walton's Chapel of the Valley is in charge of arrangements.
