LAS VEGAS - A court clerk says it'll be next week before a Nevada judge issues a decision whether to dismiss criminal charges accusing state Lt. Gov. Brian Krolicki and a top aide of mishandling a $3 billion state college savings program.
Clark County District Court Judge Valerie Adair heard today from attorneys for Krolicki and his top aide, Kathryn Besser.
Adair's clerk, Penny Wisner, says Adair won't rule until after the Thanksgiving holiday. Courts are closed Friday.
Krolicki and Besser are charged with misappropriation and falsification of accounts.
Their lawyers say the case is legally flawed, and that the state attorney general advised Krolicki when he was state treasurer that the way funds were handled was appropriate.
Trial is set Dec. 14.
