I read with great interest the letter from LaVerne Jory about corrupt politicians. What was not mentioned was why they were voted into office and why their corruption was allowed to grow until we were in our current situation. We are saddened this week by the death of Jesse Bower, husband Douglas County Historical Society President Grace Bower, and an invaluable help to all in the historical society. Jesse and Grace had been married 57 years and had two sons and a daughter.
