Great tournament

The sixth annual Merlot Golf tournament is put on by Hank and Renee Weske and boy is it a fun one. It is a fundraiser for Nevada Greyhounds Unlimited of Northern Nevada. Hank was the owner of Merlot. After Merlot passed away it was a way for him to give back to the organization that gave him Merlot.

I tell you this was a very reasonable tournament, it was great to see the winning teams donate the money they had won back to the cause, this tournament does no advertising just word of mouth and it always has a great crowd.

I am writing this letter because I wanted everyone to know about this tournament for next year and to help Hank and Renee out by thanking all the players (what a hoot), but also for the people who gave private donations, Gary Neighbors, Jim Kazakov, David Goodwin, Larry Tascano, Jodi Fortune, John Bach, David Rhodes, and Bob and Vern Wellman (Bob recently passed away but will always be in their hearts for all his help). And to the sponsors, CVI, Saletti's, Francisco's, Carson Valley Country Club, Trail Draggers, JT Basque Bar & Dining Room, Centerfield sports bar, Carson Valley Garden & Ranch, Cruisescape travel, Wildhorse, Standard Diesel, Golden Nugget Auto and Pizza Barn and lets not forget the volunteers, Betty Kaminski, Renee Weske, Richanna Presly, Windy Gets and Dennis Shaw. Saving the best for last, thanks to Sunridge Golf Course and staff, for having us, and putting up with us, and what great service they provided (hats off).

I hope I didn't forget to thank anyone and if I did I'm very sorry. If you would like to play next year get in touch with Hank at Carson Valley Inn. Special thanks to Hank for the work and effort that goes into putting on successful golf tournament, and being such a great friend.
