EDITOR:
Thank you S. Higgins for your insightful letter regarding the fact that Walmart is a store of choice for stocking up on needed items. I recently purchased a box of brownie mix at a local grocery store for $3.99, that same box was $2.89 at Walmart.
Like John Hunter (How About a Real Poll), I also polled my neighbors and they all voted for a Walmart in Gardnerville - save money, mileage and time.
Yes, they would still go into the local grocery stores for occasional stuff as they do now. Our shopping habits would not change except for driving all the way to Carson City every two weeks.
I live near Topaz Lake and a Walmart close to me would be beneficial as it would be to the people in Walker, Yerington and Smith Valley.
