Harvest Festival all October

The fifth annual Carson Valley Harvest Festival is 11 a.m. to 5 p.m. every weekend in October at the Corley Ranch, 859 Highway 395, a mile south of Pinenut Road in Gardnerville. Admission is $6 for adults, $5 for seniors and children 3 to 17, free for children 2 and younger. Information, corleyranch.com


Scarecrow festival Saturday

The East Fork Gallery Artists' 25th annual scarecrow festival is 9 a.m. to 3 p.m. Saturday at Minden Park. Face painting and preassembled scarecrows for sale. Cost of $10 includes materials to make a life-sized scarecrow. Information at the gallery 1503 Highway 395, Gardnerville, 782-7629.


Tortoise Club meets

Tickets on sale for 'Moon Over Buffalo'

Carson Valley Community Theatre's "Moon Over Buffalo" opens Oct. 9 at CVIC Hall in Minden. Performances are 7:30 p.m. Oct. 9, 10, 16, 17 and 2 p.m. Oct. 11 and 18.
