See flooding? Give the county a call

Douglas County Engineer Mahmood Azad is recruiting a core of volunteers to let him know when they experience flooding in their neighborhoods.

"We're asking all citizens who wish to volunteer to form an advisory committee to tell us their personal experiences with flooding," Azad said.

He's looking for past and present information.

A meeting is set for 5:30 p.m. Wednesday at the commission chambers in the old courthouse to sign up volunteers and give residents an opportunity to provide input in the Carson Valley Stormwater Master Plan and funding mechanism.

The meeting is at 1616 Eighth St., Minden.
