A Mass is 10 a.m. Thursday at St. Gall Catholic Church in Gardnerville for Minden resident Connie Murata Schneider, 67, who died Sept. 27, 2009, at her home surrounded by her family.
Born Aug. 11, 1942, in Oakland, Calif., to William and Fern Irene Potter, Mrs. Schneider lived in New York, Long Beach, Calif., and the San Francisco Bay Area before moving to Carson Valley more than 20 years ago.
Mrs.Schneider enjoyed many occupational pursuits throughout her life including nursing, pastry chef, rancher and homemaker. Some of her hobbies were travel, backpacking, fishing, skiing, biking, knitting, golf and cooking.
She is survived by her husband William Schneider; children Stephanie and Patrick Murata of Minden, Alessandra Murata and finance Michael Scott of New York City, and Scott Murata of Sacramento; sister and brother-in-law Billie Jean and Ron Chisick of Wilton, Calif.; sister Joanne Potter and her partner Alando Malave of San Lorenzo, Calif.; brother Stephen Potter of Chandler, Ariz.; and nieces and nephews.
