Three Reno men were injured when the sport utility vehicle they were in left the roadway near the summit of Kingsbury Grade on Monday and landed on its roof.

The accident occurred at 3:45 p.m. about a quarter mile east of Daggett Summit.

Sparks resident Fausto Dejesus Orantes, 33, was eastbound in a blue 1995 Isuzu Trooper when he rounded the curve too fast. According to Trooper Chuck Allen of the Nevada Highway Patrol, Orantes overcorrected and lost control of the vehicle, which struck and vaulted over a safety barrier and came to rest on its top.

Orantes was wearing a seatbelt, and was not injured in the accident.

His three passengers, though, were taken for treatment. Reno residents 23-year-old Quiroz Saul Villarreal and 35-year-old Rogelio Miranda-Reyes were both helicoptered to Renown Regional Medical Center for non-incapacitating injuries. Reno resident Reniery Antonio Espinal-Aguilawas taken to Carson Tahoe Regional Medical Center by East Fork paramedics.

Response to the accident limited traffic on Kingsbury for about an hour on Monday.
