Stephen Jackson continues to frustrate the Golden State Warriors.
The outspoken swingman, who demanded a trade in the summer, was suspended for the third time in his career this week for "conduct detrimental to the team."
In Friday's 110-91 victory over the Los Angeles Lakers, Jackson compiled five personal fouls and one technical in less than 10 minutes, and was sent to the locker room for the remainder of the game.
Golden State's captain missed Saturday's 104-101 win against the Phoenix Suns and will also be in civilian attire on Monday night as the Warriors face the Los Angeles Clippers.
Head coach Don Nelson did not discuss the specifics of Jackson's suspension, but he did say it was an action he was hesitant to make.
"In my 30-some years of coaching, I never suspended a player before," he said. "Maybe I should have a couple times, but I never had.
"I try to stay away from doing anything costing players a lot of money."
Jackson said last month he wished to be traded to a championship contender as Golden State has failed to make the playoffs in two straight seasons.
"At this point, I'm 31 years old and have four or five years left," he said this summer. "I want to be in a situation where I can continually be in the playoffs and get another ring."
The nine-year veteran has one NBA championship, from when he played for the San Antonio Spurs in 2003. Since then, Jackson has been on three different teams.
He was suspended for 30 games in 2004 for fighting with fans while playing against the Detroit Pistons, and was tossed for seven games in 2007 when he was charged with a felony count of criminal recklessness.
