GARDNERVILLE, Nev.
A special pet adoption event will be held Oct. 17 at the Douglas County Animal Shelter from 10 a.m. to 3 p.m.
The event will be hosted by Douglas Animal Welfare Group, and coincide with National "Adopt a Shelter Pet Month."
DAWG will offer a free spay or neuter surgery, free microchip and registration, up to $75 reimbursement for obedience training, and a $35 free pizza coupon with every adoption.
The shelter is located at 921 Pine Nut Road, across from the Douglas County Fairgrounds.
DAWG is group of volunteers dedicated to helping find suitable homes for dogs and cats housed at the shelter.
