After a tough loss to Galena at home on Wednesday, the Douglas boys' soccer team was looking to get things pointed back in the right direction Saturday against Damonte Ranch.
The Tigers cruised to a 6-0 win, getting widespread production from its offense.
"We had some nice performances by some guys," Douglas coach Milko Vasquez said. "We have a tough game coming up (Wednesday) against Wooster at their place. We just have to keep working hard and getting opportunities to capitalize."
Edgar Gonzalez's first three goals of the season highlighted the game for Douglas and Corbin Zumpft also put his first goal of the year in the net.
Edgar Arceo added a goal, his team-leading ninth of the year, as well.
Vasquez said the nicest goal of the day came on a cross from Luke Prinz that Cole Cline headed into the net.
Cline and Ivan Gonzalez had assists on the day.
Zumpft and Ivan Gonzalez combined on the shutout, recording two and three saves respectively.
Vasquez also noted the play of Rafael Alves in the middle and Tyler Bankofier on the defense.
Douglas got two goals each from CJ Baumgartner and Lexi Weaver to take a 4-2 win over Damonte Ranch on Saturday.
Katie Dry and Jessica Vega each had an assist in the game as Douglas improved to 14-1-1 on the year.
