An 18-year-old Gardnerville Ranchos man accused of taking cash, checks and receipts from his employer pleaded guilty to grand larceny Tuesday and was ordered to complete drug court.

Andrew DeWitt faces up to five years in prison and a $10,000 fine. In exchange for his guilty plea, the state dismissed a burglary charge and did not oppose his admission to Western Regional Drug Court.

He agreed to pay $4,206.50 restitution.

DeWitt told Robison he had a drug problem and used marijuana and cocaine.

He said he stole the money when his employer was on vacation.
