The Douglas Pop Warner Mitey Mite White squad picked up its fourth win on the road last week, beat the Reno Cowboys 32-0 at Mira Loma Park Saturday.
The win boosted the Tigers' record to 4-1 overall and marked their second-consecutive shutout.
After a slower start than usual, the Tigers came out of halftime with a 6-0 lead scored on their next four possessions.
An offensive unit that is anchored up front by lineman Dallas Clark, Jon Ketron, Cameron Northcutt, Samuel King, Michael Biaggini, Brian Auchenbach, Hunter Herschenroder, Devin Johnson, and Brandon Caras has done an impressive job of opening up holes for running backs Dawson Jorgensen, Dakota Lowden, Dylan Wetzel, Kane Hoyopatubbi, Colby Browning, and Tyler Crittenden who have all shared various duties in the offensive backfield.
Mitey Mite White has put up an impressive four touchdown per game average so far this season with an offensive scheme that focuses primarily on misdirection and a quick passing attack.
Perhaps even more impressive is the Tigers defensive unit that has given up only five touchdowns so far this season. Defensive lineman Cameron Northcutt, Chandler Munoz, Nicholas Ryan, Lawrence Andersen, Donovan Hunton, and Michael Ball provide a tough wall up front while defensive ends Dawson Jorgensen and Teegan Valenzuela secure the outside flanks. Linebackers Kane Hoyopatubbi, Anthony Munoz, Dakota Lowden, Colby Browning, and Tyler Crittenden anchor the defensive second level which has proven to be very
difficult to penetrate.
