A 45-minute standoff next to Sharkey's on Highway 395 ended at 6:36 p.m. when deputies forced their way into a white van and took the driver into custody.
The van and trailer were spotted driving erratically on Highway 395. A deputy turned around and the driver pulled in behind Sharkey's.
He was stopped in the back driveway, but refused to open his doors to officers. At about 6 p.m. one southbound lane of Highway 395 was closed as the man gesticulated wildly while behind the wheel of the van.
Despite drunken suggestions that deputies shoot the man yelled across the highway from the door of a bar, he was taken safely into custody after the locks were forced.
The van and trailer were towed.
