Carson Valley Golf Course hosts their annual Pink Ball Bash on Saturday. Check-in and the continental breakfast start at 9 a.m. Shotgun follows at 10 a.m. Hot soup will be served at the turn and a light lunch will be provided during scoring.

Ladies at all levels of play are invited to participate. The format is a four-person team pink ball scramble stableford. Three players play a regular scramble for stableford points. The fourth player plays the pink ball alone for stableford points. If the pink ball is lost, all four players play a scramble but no more points are scored with the pink ball.

Cost is $55 per person, with $25 of each green fee benefiting the Carson Tahoe Cancer Center. October is breast cancer awareness month and this is a great way to support both a local service and business in our area.

There's also a silent auction, with bids being accepted until 3 p.m. Saturday. Items up for bid include rounds of golf for two at Edgewood, D'Andrea, Wildcreek, Thunder Canyon and Lakeridge; accommodations at Topaz Lodge; a Ridge Tahoe spa package; dinner certificates at Carson Valley Inn and Nike golf equipment.

The gift shop also carries Think Pink wristbands and T-shirts. All proceeds from those sales go directly to the Carson Tahoe Cancer Center.

Lower fall rates are now in effect at the course. Green fees Monday through Thursday are just $24 walking or $35 with a cart. Friday through Sunday rates are $26 walking or $40 with a cart.

Twilight rates start at 3 p.m. at $20 to walk, $30 with a cart. They also feature family golf seven days a week after 4 p.m. of nine holes with a cart at $10 per player.

Mark your calendar for their annual open house on Nov. 14-15, with free gifts for the first 50 attendees each day. Nike will be on hand with equipment demos, shoes and bags, and a drawing will be held for a monogrammed golf bag. Special orders can be placed in time for holiday gift giving.

Carson Valley Golf course is located at 1027 Riverview Drive in the Gardnerville Ranchos. For more information or to set up a tee time, call them at 265-3181.
