For the first time in school history, Douglas High School will have teammates squaring off against each other in the Northern 4A Regional Tennis title match.
Amelia Ritger beat Reno's Shelly Tone Saturday morning and freshman Kari TenBroeck beat Reno's Mary Garcia to advance to the girls' singles final.
Both girls will be going on to the state tournament, regardless of what happens in the final, which begins at noon today in Reno at the Caughlin Club,
James TenBroeck advanced to the boys' singles final, which will also start at noon, and punched his ticket to state for the second-consecutive year.
On the doubles' side, seniors Linsey Glass and Jamie Lundergreen lost their semifinal match to Reed's Lesure sisters, but can still advance to state with a win in the third-place match, which also starts at noon.
