STOCKTON, Calif. - The University of Nevada swimming and diving team scored 191 points on day two of the Pacific Invitational in Stockton, Calif. today. The Wolf Pack only competed on day two, as they defeated UC Davis 161-139 on Friday in a dual meet then continued on to participate on day two of the Pacific Invitational.
Of the 10 individual events contested today the Pack had a swimmer place in the top 10 in eight. Sacramento senior Margaret Doolittle had the best day of the swimmers with three top seven finishes. Doolittle placed fourth in the 200-yard IM (2:08.50), seventh in the 100-yard butterfly (58.60) and was seventh in the 200-yard butterfly (2:10.38). She also helped the 200-yard freestyle relay to a sixth place finish.
Junior Jeanette Tour (Stockholm, Sweden) swam 59.88 in the 100-yard backstroke to place sixth. Chelsey Larsen (So., Sparks, Nev.) was eighth in the 500-yard freestyle completing the distance event in 5:12.76.
Breanna Sutton (Sr., Selah, Wash.) took eighth in the 200-yard backstroke with a time of 2:11.96. Marichi Gandionco (Jr., Quezon City, Philippines) placed 10th in the 200-yard IM with a time of 2:11.38.
The 200-yard relay team comprised of Heidi Ong (Jr., Quezon City, Philippines), Calley Parham (Fr., Lubbock, Texas), Sarah Shields (Sr., Coeur d'Alene, Idaho) and Doolittle swam 1:40.64 to place sixth. Gandionco, Stephanie Braun (Sr., Reno, Nev.), Larsen and Miranda Moore (Sr., Spokane, Wash) combined to post a time of 8:09.12 in the 800-yard freestyle to earn a sixth place finish.
Next action for the Wolf Pack is Oct. 30 when Fresno State comes to Lombardi Pool for a dual meet.
