A 42-year-old Reno woman whose family refused to pay a $156.75 taxi fare when she showed up late Saturday at their Westwood residence was ordered Monday to pay the bill and take her medication.
Jennifer Eve Taylor told East Fork Justice Jim EnEarl she wanted her mother to pay the bill, but the woman refused. Taylor was arrested after deputies were called over the dispute.
Taylor admitted she was off her medication and was drunk.
"The poor taxi driver drove all the way here and didn't even get paid," EnEarl said.
Taylor pleaded guilty to obtaining services by false pretenses. She received a 30-day suspended sentence and EnEarl ordered her take all prescribed medication.
"I wanted to see my children," she said. "I had the idea my mom would pay."
Taylor also brought her dog in the taxi which was taken to the animal shelter.
