A 29-year-old Gardnerville Ranchos man was sent to jail for six months after he failed probation by using methamphetamine.

Jonathan Paul Flagg told East Fork Justice Jim EnEarl on Wednesday he "got a little messed up" after his fiancee of six years ended their relationship.

"I got high Saturday," Flagg said. "Me and my fiancee broke up. I've been a wreck."

In addition to the methamphetamine, Flagg said he was taking prescription Vicodin.

"What do you think happens when you mix crank with an opiate?" EnEarl asked. "It kills you. Do you want to die?"

Flagg asked to be sent to drug rehabilitation. He's also on probation in district court for writing bad checks.

"He's gotten lots of chances," said prosecutor Laurie Trotter. "He doesn't deserve any more. He's a threat to the community."

EnEarl imposed the suspended six-month justice court sentence and told Flagg he could write a letter requesting admission to drug rehabilitation.

Flagg was charged in 2008 with felony sales of a controlled substance. The charge was reduced to attempted possession of a drug not introduced into interstate commerce.
