Entertainment at CVI

Lord/Quinn continues in the Carson Valley Inn Cabaret Lounge through Sunday and the Red Hot Smokin' Aces play Nov. 3-8. Monday Night Football plays in the Cabaret Lounge on Mondays.

Lord/Quinn is Stephen Lord on guitar and vocals and Tony Quinn on guitar, keyboards and vocals. Their 1,000-song repertoire includes oldies, country, pop, jazz, soul and rock 'n' roll.

Jeffrey and Ileia, the father/daughter team of the Red Hot Smokin' Aces play country and oldies to pop chart hits - from Gretchen Wilson to Stevie Wonder and Merle Haggard to Roy Orbison.

Live entertainment presented with no cover and no minimum with five 45-minute shows starting on the hour at 7 p.m. Sunday, Tuesday, Wednesday, Thursday and on the half-hour starting at 7:30 p.m. Friday and Saturday.

Monday Night Football in the Cabaret Lounge on Mondays with big-screen action, food and beer specials and prize drawings.

GENOA

Genoa Bar happenings

Nevada Day celebration and costume contest, 2-5 p.m. Saturday, at the Genoa Bar, 2282 Main St. Genoa. Shotgun salute by Devil Mountain Brigade following parade in Carson City. Old West costume party theme, but all costumers welcome. Live music by Playa Papaya, who are guitarist Larry Nair, singer Beth Oliveton, bassist/flautist Bill Quinby and percussionist Tom Rice.

The Genoa Bar, Nevada's Oldest Thirst Parlor, offers a free juke box 6-10 p.m. Tuesdays and free pool 6-10 p.m. Wednesdays. Ladies night begins 6 p.m. Thursdays, with specials on ladies drinks and merchandise. Patrons are encouraged to bring canned food items to be donated to the Carson Valley Community Food Closet.
