I hear the flood plain map meeting was packed last night. News Editor Sheila Gardner was there and will be filing her report today.

Any state or county business you have to conduct this week should be done today, since Friday is a holiday. The mail will still run, and federal offices will be open, along with national banks, who do not recognize Nevada's statehood as a cause for celebration.

It's cold out now, and it won't be warming up much today. I'm reading 21 in Genoa, the county thermometer in Minden is reading 19 degrees, and it's 22 degrees at Meneley Elementary School in the Ranchos. The Weather Service is forecasting that the high today won't crack 50. But it's going to warm up fast, with highs in the low 70s by the weekend.
