While on my morning run today I passed by Scarselli Elementary. There was a gentlemen spraying the weeds (lawn)? I asked him what he was spraying and did he have to do it so close to the children's lunch. He said he had been working for the school district for 11 years and to trust him that this stuff is not harmful unless you drink it? Well they told people for many years that smoking was not harmful and certain kinds of drugs were OK to take until they were recalled or finally looked in to and considered harmful.
My point is, you guys had all summer to spray for weeds. Do you think that the kids really care if there is a weed or two mixed in the green grass? We do not spray at my house and we have a beautiful lawn front and back. It is not a perfect weed free lawn but beautiful none the less. Why don't we spray? Because children, animals and grown-ups play on the lawn. Take the money that you are spending on weed control, during the school year and give it to the teachers.
