Douglas High's Justin Draper scored on an assist from Edgar Arceo in the fourth minute Wednesday, which proved to be all the Tigers would need in a 1-0 win over Reno in Minden.
The two teams spent the remaining 76 minutes of the game battling for possession, although Douglas held the overall advantage.
"We dominated, we just couldn't put any shots on net," Douglas coach Milko Vasquez said. "It could've been 6-0, but we're still young and trying to figure how to finish these plays off."
Douglas also got a strong defensive effort from goalie Ivan Gonzalez, Troy Cohee and Brian Randall.
The Tigers improved to 2-2-1 on the year with the win.
