Fundraiser canceled

Photo Club meets Tuesday
Carson Valley Photo club meets 6:30 p.m. Sept. 8 at Carson Valley United Methodist Church, 1375 Centerville Lane, Gardnerville. Speaker is from Gordon's Photo Service in Carson City. The theme for the photo club's September contest is "yard art." Pictures must be 8-by-10 or 8 1⁄2-by-11 inches and must have been taken Aug. 11 to Sept. 8. New members and visitors welcome. Teen dance Sept. 11
Douglas County Parks & Recreation Department sponsors a teen dance for sixth-to eighth-grade students, 6:30-9 p.m. Sept. 11, at the Douglas County Fairgrounds Building. DJ music by Bill McClain's Mobile Music. Cost of $10 includes a pizza slice and drink. Snacks available for purchase.
