The Nevada Motocross Park is hosting a big air freestyle event and professional race over the Labor Day weekend.
Located just off of Highway on Pinenut Road, the park is well into its Summer1 Series inaugural season. Since it opened on July 19, the track has brought in local, regional and vintage riders and spectators to the Carson Valley region.
Some of motocross's biggest riders including X-Games professionals Mike Mason, Adam Jones, Matt Buyten and Dustin Miller are expected to participate in this weekend's event.
• Saturday: Big Air Freestyle Event at the Gardnerville Fairgrounds from 7 p.m. to 10 p.m. Gates open at 5 p.m. - X-Games riders, Mike Mason, Matt Buyten, Dustin Miller and Adam Jones take the ramps in the Nevada Motocross Summer1 Series Big Air show. They are joined by fast 50s, Pee Wee racers. After the show, fans will have a chance to meet the pros and get an autograph.
• Sunday: Professional and Local Races from 9 a.m. to 5 p.m. - A full day of racing as the pros battle for money and the area's best amateurs ride for bragging rights.
• Admission for the Big Air Freestyle Event is $20 for adults, $5 for kids 2 to 12-years-old and FREE for children under 2-years-old.
• Local entries are $35 for first entry and $25 for second.
• Admission is $5 for spectators for the Sunday Professional and Local Races
Travel south on Highway 395 to Pinenut Road. Take a left onto Pinenut Road and continue driving for two miles until you reach the Nevada Motocross Park and turn left. The turn off is located just past the Douglas County Animal Shelter and the Douglas County Fairgrounds are directly across the street from the motocross park.
