The Douglas High girls' tennis team continued its impressive start to the season, beating Incline 17-1 in the Tigers' home-opener.
The win boosted Douglas to a 3-0 mark overall on the year.
Aside from winning all three of their sets, Amelia Ritger and the doubles teams of Jamie Lundergreen and Linsey Glass and Emily and Sarah Weaver made it through the day without losing a single game.
Cesarina Ceglia and Kari TenBroeck each posted two wins in the singles bracket and the teams of Katie Sawicki/Susie White, Katie Sawicki/Kim Lowe and Zoe Vander Byl/Rochelle Seymour each posted one win in the doubles bracket.
Missing their top player, James TenBroeck, the Douglas boys' tennis team suffered a 13-5 loss to Incline at the Lake.
"Without our top player, we just didn't have enough firepower to upset Incline's tough singles lineup," Douglas coach Rod Smith said. "We had a few competitive singles matches, but Incline would not be denied an impressive singles sweep."
On the doubles' side, Douglas' No. 1 pair Matt Williams and Matt Thomas shook off a rare first loss and won their final two matches 6-1 and 6-3.
"So far this season, these guys are working hard in practice, having fun and winning a majority of their matches," Smith said.
Other doubles set winners were Grant Mason and Aaron, who picked up 6-4 and 6-0 wins.
"I was impressed with their cohesiveness and positive attitudes," Smith said.
Matt Johnson and Jack Gooding teamed up for the first time and produced a 6-1 win as well.
Douglas dropped to 1-2 overall on the year.
