A celebration of life is Saturday at 10 a.m. for John Edward Williams, who died Sept. 3, 2009, at his Minden residence. He was 53.
He was born Sept. 12, 1955, in Long Beach, Calif., to Edward and Betty Williams. He moved to Carson Valley in 1995.
Mr. Williams was a U.S. Army veteran.
He worked as a supervisor at North Sails Nevada for 10 years and at Aervoe Industries Inc., both in Carson Valley.
For the last four years of his life, Mr. Williams battled brain cancer, a fight which he chronicled on his Caring Bridge Web page, attracting hundreds of followers.
He is survived by his wife Bobbie; daughters Sarah Canby, Sara Brown and Heather Williams; grandsons Magnus and Preston Canby; his parents, sisters, numerous nieces, nephews and cousins, and a large extended family of friends.
Mr. Williams' life will be celebrated Saturday, his 54th birthday, at 10 a.m. at Carson Valley Christian Center, 1095 Stephanie Way, Minden.
