Carson River clean-up day Oct. 4

Fishermen, hikers, rafters and anyone who enjoys the Carson River is invited to a river clean-up day on Oct. 4.

Join the High Sierra Flycasters, Washoe Tribe of Nevada and California, Western Nevada Water Conservancy, Boy Scouts and Girl Scouts in picking up trash, planting willows for erosion control and putting up bat boxes along the Carson River from the power dam to the bridge.

Meet at 8 a.m. at the restrooms near the rafting take-out area at the old power dam.

Bring work gloves, long pants, hat, sturdy shoes, and pitch forks and rakes if you have them. Hot dog lunch provided. Information, Angler's Edge, 782-4734.
