Graveside services are 11 a.m. Monday at the Happy Homestead Cemetery in South Lake Tahoe for former Carson Valley resident Norma M. Antles, 91. Mrs. Antles died Sept. 10, 2009, at Carson Tahoe Extended Care Hospital from complications arising from falling and breaking her right arm and shoulder.
Born Feb. 17, 1918, to Thomas H. and Laura T. (Krough) Greene in Santa Barbara, Calif., she retired as supervisor of student dorms housekeeping and maintenance for the University of California, Santa Barbara, in 1978.
After retirement she moved to northern Douglas County with her husband.
She really enjoyed living in Carson Valley.
Crocheting, cooking and baking were her passions. She loved playing games and watching game shows.
She was preceded in death by her husband Carl in 1982; her son, Gary and daughter Loretta Antles Cranney.
She is survived by sons, Carl "Dave" (Gen) Antles of South Lake Tahoe and Richard (Linda) Antles of Santa Maria, Calif.; granddaughters Toni York Smith of Minden and Terri Doudna of Lompoc, Calif.; grandsons Robert of Lompoc, Michael Antles and Richard Antles of Santa Maria, Calif., Tom Cranney of Stockton, Calif., Tim Cranney of Minden, Larry Antles of Bolivar, Mo., and Jim Antles from Red Bluff, Calif.; 12 great-grandchildren, three great-great-grandchildren and many nieces and nephews.
