The Coleville football team crushed the hosting Owyhee Braves 94-8 Saturday.
Coleville's first team offense and defense had another short day retiring at halftime with a 74 to 0 lead.
Quarterback Jason Peters was 11 for 16 for 186 yards and five touchdown passes in two quarters of play. Peters also rushed for two more touchdowns on seven carries for 64 yards.
Wideout Emmi Sandoval scored three touchdowns on his four receptions and led the Coleville receivers with 82 receiving yards. Sandoval also ran back a punt 62 yards for a special teams score.
Receivers Jay Clark and Kambel Kenaston each had one touchdown reception.
Sophomore tailback John "Buh" Hamilton rushed for 107 yards on 12 carries and scored on a 26-yard run. Hamilton also caught one pass for a 29-yard score.
Reserve tailback Tyler Summers added two more scores including a 13-yard run and a 23-yard reception.
The defense also scored with defensive end Steven Koelling-Lynch falling on a fumble in the endzone. The first team was led by senior linebacker Jay Clark two solos and 15 assists and defensive end Mat Randall with three solos and six assists. Nose guard Lucas Vasquez added two solos, four assists and a sack in a strong performance.
The second team defense was led by Tyler Summers with a solo and eight assists and Austin Byers had three solos and four assists. Nathan Hershey and Joshiah Huhta also played very well in the second half.
"We continue to be very explosive on offense and our defense is playing extremely well," Coleville coach Will Sandy said. "The younger players have really responded to their extensive playing time and continue to impress me on both sides of the ball.
I hope that our first team hasn't suffered from their reduced playing time."
Coleville is now 4-0 and opens league play Saturday at Virginia City. The game will begin at 1 p.m.
