The Dangberg Home Ranch Historic Park hosts a one-hour lecture by C. Stephen Achard Jr. and Conrad Buedel on researching the true story of the Dangberg family, 11 a.m. Saturday, at the park.
Achard and Buedel are authors of a soon to be published book about the Dangbergs covering the period from the birth of H. F. Dangberg, Sr. in 1830 to the opening of the Dangberg Home Ranch Historic Park in 2007.
Achard, also known as Dinky, is the son of Ruth Dangberg Achard and the grandson of Henry Fred Dangberg Jr. He grew up at the Home Ranch in the 1930s and '40s.
Buedel and is a writer, photographer and graphic designer who lives in Carson Valley.
Chairs and shade shelters for the outdoor program provided by the park, but you are welcome to bring your own lawn chairs. Bring drinking water.
The Dangberg Home Ranch Historic Park is west of Minden at 1450 Highway 88, and features several historic buildings constructed between 1857 and 1920, including what was once one of the most prominent homes in Carson Valley. The site was settled in 1857 by Carson Valley pioneer Heinrich F. Dangberg, Sr.
