A memorial service is 10 a.m. Saturday at FitzHenry's Funeral Home for 18-year Gardnerville resident Joe Marangi.
Born Oct. 8, 1942 in Utica, N.Y., to Gregario and Carmella Marangi, he married Marie Eger Feb. 17, 1973, in Hollywood, Calif.
Mr. Marangi served in the U.S. Army and Air Force National Guard, and was a member of the Republican Party and the National Rifle Association. He enjoyed political history, ranching and cooking and his grandchildren.
He is preceded in death by his parents, brother Pat Marangi; and sister Rose DeRusso.
Mr. Marangi is survived by his wife Marie; son Mark and his fiancee Shalon; daughters Kim (Joe) Wallace; Kelley (Donald) Hosea; brother Tony Marangi; sister Chet of New York; many grandchildren and great-grandchildren; four nieces and two nephews.
Burial will be at Eastside Memorial Park in Minden.
FitzHenry's Funeral Home is in charge of arrangements.
