Fourth-ranked Manogue beat the No. 5 Douglas boys' soccer team 3-2 Wednesday in Minden.
The game was tied at two through the 52nd minute when Manogue converted a penalty kick for the go-ahead goal.
The Miners scored early on, but Douglas was able to bounce back on a nice shot from Brian Randall, who took a direct kick from about 40 yards out and looped it just inside the cross bar in the 16th minute.
Manogue re-took the lead in the 25th minute, converting a nice cross pass through the middle for the 2-1 lead but Douglas' Edgar Arceo came back three minutes later to dribble around two defenders and score to the high left post.
Douglas had a couple of chances to take the lead early in the second half, including a nice combination play that began with an Arceo breakaway. Arceo crossed the ball to Cole Cline, who dropped the ball back to Corbin Zumpft. Zumpft put a nice shot on net, but it was blocked.
Arceo also had a direct kick from about 20 yards out in the 73rd minute that sailed just high.
The Tigers were also able to string together a couple of nice chances in the last four minute of the game with defender Brian Randall playing forward, but were not able to convert.
