Douglas Country Nevada TRIAD in conjunction with Saint Mary's Hospice and Carson Valley Medical Center will be conducting their annual free senior educational seminar on Oct. 15 at Carson Valley United Methodist Church, 1375 Centerville Lane in Gardnerville.
This will be a multidisciplinary seminar on end-of-life care. The theme of this year's seminar is "Learning to Add Life to Days."
The seminar will commence with breakfast at 7:30 a.m. The morning sessions will begin at 8:15 a.m., and will be presented by representatives from Saint Mary's Hospice.
Lunch will be served at noon by Saint Mary's Hospice followed by a panel discussion on Ethical Considerations and a special presentation by Maureen Peckman and Susan Hirsch entitled, "Keep Memory Alive." The seminar will be concluded at 3 p.m. Medical professionals may earn up to 5.5 continuing education units including one for ethics. This seminar is primarily designed for physicians, nurses, caregivers and seniors but it is open to all of those who might be interested in the subject matter. There is limited seating, consequently, pre-registration by Oct. 8 is required.
