A bench warrant was to be issued Wednesday for a 25-year-old Gardnerville Ranchos resident accused of stealing gas cards from his former employer and charging more than $200 in fuel.

Ryan Hilz failed to show up at state parole and probation for a pre-sentence report or his sentencing Monday.

He pleaded guilty Aug. 17 to fraudulent use of a credit card and had requested admission to Western Regional Drug Court.

Hilz also is facing charges in Carson City.

District Judge Michael Gibbons continued Hilz's sentencing for a week. He issued a $25,000 bench warrant to be held until Wednesday.

According to reports, Hilz broke into vehicles at United Electrical Services on Meridian Boulevard in Minden and stole gas cards he reportedly used in Douglas County and Carson City.

He agreed to pay $220.13 restitution.
