Douglas High announces AP Scholar Awards

More than 40 current and graduated students of Douglas High School have earned AP Scholar Awards in recognition of their exceptional achievement on Advanced Placement exams.

The College Board's AP Program provides motivated and academically prepared students with the opportunity to take rigorous college-level courses while still in high school, and to earn college credit, advanced placement, or both for successful performance on the AP exams.

About 18 percent of the nearly 1.7 million students worldwide who took AP exams performed at a sufficiently high level to also earn an AP Scholar Award.

The College Board recognizes several levels of achievement based on students' performance on AP exams.

Lulu Yu was granted the National AP Scholar Award for an average grade of at least 4 on all AP exams taken, and grades of 4 or higher on eight or more of these exams.

Emily Allison, Christopher Duarte, Nicholas Hales, Kevin Johnston, Julia Miller, Joshua Peck, Clara Ritger, Alice Sady, Shane Wigton and Lulu Yu qualified for the AP Scholar with Distinction Award, earning an average grade of at least 3.5 on all AP exams taken, and grades of 3 or higher on five or more of these exams.

Natasha Brown, Kelsey Conklin, Nicole Duster, Khristopher Faiss, Lindsey Jones, Sage Lyons, John Meierdierck, Kathryn Nicholson, Kevin Sacherman, Bonnie Slocum, Benjamin Syang and Daniel Trent qualified for the AP Scholar with Honor Award by earning an average grade of at least 3.25 on all AP exams taken, and grades of 3 or higher on four or more of these exams.

Kaitlin Babbitt, Justin Donat, William Dornbrook, Jessica England, Helen Fillmore, Brandi Graves, Austin Hamilton, Anna Jackson, Evan Kleiner, Jamie Lundergreen, Garrett Madsen, Megan Mitchell, Bart Niday, Noah O'Connor, Alisa Reith, Gabrielle Rose, Andrew Solomon, Aaron Wennhold and Theodore Williams qualified for the AP Scholar Award by completing three or more AP exams with grades of 3 or higher.
